The Maryland Department of Natural Resources today announced a comprehensive plan on oyster restoration, including its intention to recommend Breton Bay and the upper St. Mary’s River as the fourth and fifth tributaries to satisfy the state’s commitment to the Chesapeake Bay Watershed Agreement.

The state has spent millions of dollars rebuilding oyster beds then they turn them over to watermen to destroy, that is really stupid. If Maryland and the evironmentalists really want save the bay, rebuild the beds and close them forever and ever and ever. I know this will set off some watermen but what I say to them is get a real job and pay your taxes like everyone else.
